Moving House (Part 2)

"Yes! Isn't this exciting?" Her dad exclaimed, looking absolutely beside himself with excitement.

"No! This is not exciting! What about my friends? I'm going to have to change schools and everything! I don't want to go to Texas! I want to stay here!" Jasmine said, her tone of voice not very nice at all.

Her dad gave her a look, he couldn't understand why she wasn't as excited as he was, "Sweetie, this is an exciting opportunity. My new job pays much better than my current one, we'll be able to get you that new room you always wanted,"

"I don't want to go to Texas..." she said quietly, trailing off. Jasmine turned to leave the room. This just wasn't fair, how could her parents just have made such a huge decision like this on their own? It wasn't fair. She had her own life to live, how could he possibly be so selfish? Everything had been going right in her life thus far, she was one of the better students in every class, she was the captain of the debate team and she had some of the best friends anyone could possibly ask for.

How could she even begin to want to leave that all behind?

Later that night, dinner was a quiet affair. Everyone retired to their respective rooms without another word. It seemed that the verdict was that they would be moving and she had no say to begin with. It just wasn't fair.
